Ahmed Patel claims A-SAT test-fire success for Congress
As the prime minister, Narendra Modi, announced the successful test-firing of the anti-satellite missile (A-SAT), on Wednesday, it drew sharp reactions from the opposition. While all the opposition praised the scientists behind the test, some called it “desperate politicking” while the Congress tried to take credit for the feat.
Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel took to Twitter and expressed his gratitude to the DRDO for the achievement while asserting that the Narendra Modi government should not be getting the credit for it. He said the Modi government is cashing on the success of a programme that was launched under former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
The UPA government had initiated the ASAT program which has reached fruition today
