BJP chief Amit Shah, on Tuesday, stated that this year’s Lok Sabha election will be decisive for the ruling Trinamool Congress in Bengal and warned that the saffron party will “fight for inches”.

Speaking to BJP workers at a rally in Malda district, Shah said, “The 2019 election is very important for Bengal. It is an election for establishment of democracy in the state. It will decide whether TMC rule will continue or not.”

Slamming at the Mamata Banerjee government for alleged rigging and threats about the 2018 panchayat election, the BJP president said, “This election won’t be like the panchayat election. Central forces will guard the polling centers.”

Though BJP has won the greatest number of seats after TMC, the gap between them was huge. Also, TMC succeeded in increasing its tally from the previous election. The BJP alleged a major portion of their victory was an outcome of intimidation by TMC cadres.
