Arun Jaitley calls Rahul Gandhi ‘grandson of Emergency dictator’
The ongoing heated sparks between the Union finance minister, Arun Jaitley, and the Congress president, Rahul Gandhi, are not showing any sign of slowing down. While slamming Gandhi over his comment on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s New Year interview, Arun Jaitley has called him as ‘grandson of Emergency dictator’ in a tweet.
Gandhi had called the interviewer, ANI’s Smita Prakash, “pliant” in a news briefing.
Jaitley’s tweet was in reference to Gandhi’s grandmother, Indira Gandhi, who had imposed the Emergency in the country in 1975 when she was the prime minister.
Jaitley tweeted:
The Grandson of the ‘Emergency dictator’ displays his real DNA – attacks and intimidates an independent Editor.

Rahul Gandhi had commented on the Modi’s exclusive interview to ANI editor Smita Prakash on January 1 saying that he has no guts to sit in front of people for answering questions.
Gandhi had said: “He (Modi) does not have the guts to come and sit in front of you. And I am coming here, you can ask me any question. You saw the prime minister's interview yesterday ... matlab (meaning) pliable journalist, she was asking questions and was even giving answers.”
