Former Union minister and senior journalist Arun Shourie, on Friday, said that the Supreme Court judgment on the plea on Rafale deal, of which he was one of the petitioners, had diminished judiciary’s credibility.

While addressing questions from journalists in an award function in journalism, in Nagpur, Shourie was asked if he regretted having moved the apex court in Rafale deal. In his reply, he said, “No, no. Why should I regret? In fact, the ruling that came had only diminished judiciary’s credibility. The ruling had contents plagiarized from the government note that was submitted to the court. So, we have proved our point.”

Arun Shourie, his former colleague in the BJP, Yashwant Sinha; and activist-advocate Prashant Bhushan had filed a plea in the Supreme Court asking for a probe into the Rafale deal. Shourie said he was filling a review petition in the matter.
