Asaduddin Owaisi.

AIMIM leader and Lok Sabha MP from Hyderabad Asaduddin Owaisi expressed his disappointment over the Supreme Court judgment on the protracted Ayodhya land dispute. Reacting to the unanimous verdict by the CJI-led five-judge Constitution bench, in which the court awarded the disputed 2.77-acre site to the Hindus to build a Ram temple, he said the Supreme Court is supreme, but not infallible. He then attributed his quote to former Supreme Court judge Justice JS Verma.

Talking to reporters, Owaisi said,

“Not satisfied with the verdict. The Supreme Court is indeed supreme, but not infallible. We have full faith in the constitution, we were fighting for our right. We don’t need 5-acre land as donation. We should reject this 5-acre land offer, don’t patronize us.”

He said, “Faith has prevailed over facts” with regards to the Supreme Court’s verdict today.”

He then attributed his “Supreme Court supreme, but not infallible” quote to the late Supreme Court judge JS Verma and said, “It is not me who is saying this. Justice JS Verma, who the Sangh Parivar holds in high esteem, had said this.”
