BJP lawmaker Bandaru Dattatreya, on Sunday, launched a scathing attack at Telagana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao over his bond with the AIMIM. He alleged that Hyderabad is a safe haven for Islamic terrorist activities and that the police are not taking stern action because of Rao’s bond with Asaduddin Owaisi.

He said, “Recent investigations of NIA reveal that Hyderabad is a safe haven for Islamic terrorist activities. Many people are being recruited in Hyderabad.”

Further while blaming the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi government for not taking any action against this because of a bond with Owaisi-led All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, Dattatreya said, “The TRS government is aligned with the AIMIM; that is why the police are sometimes unable to take stern action. I demand that the state government forms a special cell under a DG (director general)- or IG (inspector general)-rank official for the investigation of these activities.”

Dattatreya’s statement came two days after NIA conducted searches at two locations in Hyderabad in connection with an Islamic State module case.
