Senior Congress member and spokesperson Manish Tewari, on Saturday, while referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remark of a “majboor” (helpless) and a “majboot” (strong) government, has hit back saying the 2019 Lok Sabha election would be a “fight between dictatorship and democracy”.

He said, “Lok Sabha 2019 will not be a battle between a majboor sarkar and a majboot sarkar, it is a fight between dictatorship and democracy. It is a battle between ‘bhashan’ (speeches) and ‘prashasan’ (administration) and it is going to be a test of ‘jumla’ (gimmicks) versus ‘impeccable track record’ of service which the Congress has delivered for years.”

Tewari, on Friday evening had also tweeted something similar:

Earlier, Modi has mocked the Congress party by saying that in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, people have to choose between a “majboor” and a “majboot” government.

Tiwari has also targeted the defence minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, for stating that there was “no big terrorist attack” since the BJP has started ruling the county. Tiwari said, “If this was to be true, then what was the Uri attack, where 19 soldiers were killed in a terror strike, and the Pathankot terror strike?”
