Congress spokesman Pawan Khera has landed himself in a problem for making up a controversial full form of the “Modi” acronym in an attempt to criticize Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has filed a complaint against Khera, on Tuesday, with the charges of violating the election model code of conduct by making up the offensive full form.

During a debate on India TV, Khera stated that “Modi” stands for “Masood (Azhar), Osama (bin Laden), Dawood (Ibrahim) and ISI.”

The BJP, in a letter to the Delhi chief electoral officer, said: “Comparing Prime Minister Narendra Modi with dreaded terrorists is not only unparliamentary but defamatory and deplorable.”

The BJP asserted that such speech amounts to “blatant violation” of the model code of conduct, which is now enforced following the announcement of the Lok Sabha election dates. The Model Code of Conduct Manual 2019 under Chapter 4 Clause 4.4 prohibits criticism of other parties or their workers based on unverified allegations or on distortions.”

Here is the video of what Pawan Khera said on “Modi”:
