Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, on Tuesday, attacked the Congress manifesto for 2019 Lok Sabha election and its stand on Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act in Jammu & Kashmir. Fadnavis rhetorically asked if the manifesto belonged to the opposition party or Jaish-e-Muhammed – the terror group.

While addressing an election rally in Pune for the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate, Girish Bapat, Fadnavis said, “They are also saying that if they come to power, they will reduce the special powers given to the Army in Jammu & Kashmir. What special power does the Army have in Jammu & Kashmir? If terrorists are sighted, they have all the powers to eliminate them. They have powers to put stone pelters behind bars.”

He also attacked Congress for claiming in its manifesto that section 124 A of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with sedition, will be scrapped.
