Oil minister Dharmendra Pradhan gave credit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the waiver from US sanctions on importing oil from Iran. He said India has been able to get its way all due to the prime minister’s “forceful campaign”.

India is among the countries granted a waiver from the US sanctions on Iran. Speaking to reporters, on Saturday, about the agreement signing event between CSC e-governance services and oil marketing companies BPCL, Indian Oil, and HPCL, Pradhan said, “Honourable Prime Minister’s forceful campaign has been that you can’t ignore interests of consuming countries. Understanding geopolitical situation, India has been able to get its way. The US has given waiver to some countries including India.”

Pradhan further said, “From this campaign, not only India but other (oil) consuming nations will be benefitted. The nitty-gritty of this will come gradually.”
