Justice Kurian Joseph.

Justice Kurian Joseph, who retired as a Supreme Court judge recently, told a TV channel during an interview that former Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra was “remote-controlled by an external source”, which “highly affected” the administration of justice by the apex court.

During an interview with NDTV, Joseph said, “The-then CJI was working under influence of some external source. He was remote-controlled by an external source. There was some influence of some external source that was impacting the administration of justice.”

However, Joseph did not give any information about who the “external source” was and nor did he mention the cases where there was bias according to him.

In January this year, Joseph was one of the four most senior judges of the Supreme Court who came out and held a news conference with their grievances against Dipak Misra, who was the CJI then. Justice Kurian retired as a Supreme Court judge on November 29.
