Jyotiraditya Scindia says ‘focusing on strengthening Congress in Uttar Pradesh’

The Congress general secretary in charge of western Uttar Pradesh, Jyotiraditya Scindia, on Friday, said that senior party leaders are focusing on strengthening the grand old party after the humiliating defeat in Lok Sabha election in the state.
Talking to reporters in Lucknow, Scindia said, “Our focus is on strengthening Congress, its workers … (we are) giving an opportunity to good candidates and prepare for the (2022) assembly election.”
Scindia also claimed that the Congress would go solo in the 2022 election.
It is worth noting that Scindia and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, in charge of the Congress in eastern UP, have been conducting review meetings in the state after the party suffered a major setback in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls in the state.
