BJP general secretary, Kailash Vijayvargiya, on Wednesday, said Congress workers chant “Pakistan zindabad” at victory rallies. Reacting to this, an outraged Congress demanded that Vijavargiya either prove his charge or apologize.

Vijayvargiya, while addressing BJP workers at a protest against Congress and its comments on the Rafale deal, said, “When Congress wins and takes out victory marches, slogans of ‘Pakistan zindabad’ are raised, but its workers don't protest. We have seen many wins and defeats, but when we take out a victory march, if anybody raise such slogans, we will bury him alive.”

He said, “BJP will not tolerate politics for the sake of votes or those that support people who raise anti-national slogans like ‘Bharat tere tukde honge (India will break into pieces).’ Rahul Gandhi went to meet them. If it was in the power of BJP workers, we would have pulled out their tongues.”

The BJP general secretary further added, “Why is it that the Pakistani prime minister, Imran Khan, said relations between India and Pakistan can improve only when Congress forms government? Congress speaks Pakistan's tongue and questions the Rafale deal.”

However, after this statement, Congress strongly reacted and the state spokesman of the party, Nilabh Shukla said, “Vijayvargiya’s statement is irresponsible. He must present proof of his statement or apologize publicly.”
