Kerala Congress’s Abdullakutty praises Narendra Modi, says PM adopted Gandhian values

Senior Congress leader from Kerala AP Abdullakutty praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the BJP-led NDA’s landslide victory in the Lok Sabha election. Abdullakutty said the win showed that people have accepted Modi’s development agenda. He also said the secret of Modi’s success was that the prime minister has “adopted Gandhian values”.
Abdullakutty said this on a Facebook post where he hailed Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Ujjwala Yojana. He wrote: “Mahatma Gandhi had told social workers that when you formulate a policy, you should remember the face of a poor man whom you have met. Modi implemented it accurately.”
Following this post, the Congress has sought an explanation from him.
It must be noted that Abdullakutty was sacked from the Communist Party of India (Marxist) for praising Modi. He then joined the Congress.
He was the Kannur MP in 1999 and 2004 when he was in the CPM.
