‘Losing ability to tolerate others is cause for concern’: Amartya Sen backs Naseeruddin Shah on Bulandshahr remark controversy
Nasseruddin Shah, who recently landed into controversy for his remarks on Bulandshahr violence, was backed by Nobel laureate Amartya Sen on Sunday.
Amartya Sen came out in support of the actor Naseeruddin Shah and claimed that many institutions in the country are under attack and their freedom is intruded. and about Shah, he said, “Losing the ability to tolerate others is a serious cause for concern, it points to the loss of ability to think and analyze”.
An Amnesty video was done by Shah, the actor said that those who demand freedom are being locked up. Under the hashtag #AbkiBaarManavAdhikaar the Amnesty had also claimed that India has witnessed a massive crackdown on freedom of expression and human rights defenders.
