Mamata Banerjee.

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee described the interim Budget as a budget with expiry date whose life span is just a month.

While addressing a news conference at the West Bengal assembly, she said, “This is nothing but a farce. He (Narendra Modi) knows he won’t come back after a month. He is cheating people. This government has become a cheat-fund government”. She used the word “cheat” in reference to BJP president Amit Shah’s recent attack on her with the chit-fund scams that hit her state.

While laughing at Modi’s assistance schemes for farmers, Mamata Banerjee said, “The prime minister is a master in duplication. And, this is nothing new. Our Krishi Bandhu gives assistance of ₹5,000 for each acre of land whereas they are talking of land up to two hectares only.”

She also claimed that the centre is imitating her schemes one after another and not even giving credit to the state for its share.
