Mamata Banerjee says Narendra Modi switched from ‘chaiwala’ to ‘chowkidar’ because tea heated twice becomes toxic

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, on Friday, launched a scathing attack at Prime Minister Narendra Modi by saying he switched from his 2014 “chaiwala” moniker to “chowkidar” because the “same tea heated twice becomes poisonous”.

While in an interview with News18 Network, she said, “Chowkidar is a household word today. He earlier pitched himself as a chaiwala, but now he is a chowkidar. Why did he change his chaiwala poll pitch? You can’t heat up the same tea twice, it turns poisonous. That’s why he’s turned chowkidar.”
