Manmohan Singh says success of lockdown will be judged finally by our ability to tackle Covid-19

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said success of the countrywide lockdown to stop the transmission of the new coronavirus, Covid-19, will be judged by how we tackled the virus outbreak in the country.

Addressing a meeting of the Congress Working Committee, on Thursday, the former prime minister said, “Success of lockdown is to be judged finally on our ability to tackle Covid-19. Cooperation between the Centre and states is key to success and the fight would very much depend upon the availability of resources.”

This is the second time the CWC met through videoconferencing after the countrywide lockdown was imposed from March 25. The first meeting of the CWC during the lockdown was on April 10.
