Mehbooba Mufti blocks Gautam Gambhir on Twitter after a spat over Article 370
Cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir, who recently had a Twitter spat with National Conference deputy leader Omar Abdullah over the latter’s “separate PM for Kashmir” statement, was blocked by PDP leader and former J&K chief minister Mehboota Mufti on Twitter after a back and forth on Article 370, on Monday.
Mufti in a tweet criticized the BJP over the PIL filed in the Delhi high court which seeks a ban on J&K politicians like Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and herself from contesting in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. And said, “why waste time in court. Wait for the BJP to scrap Article 370. It will automatically debar us from fighting elections since Indian Constitution won’t be applicable to J&K anymore.”
Why waste time in court. Wait for BJP to scrap Article 370. It will automatically debar us from fighting elections since Indian constitution won’t be applicable to J&K anymore. Na samjho gay tou mit jaouge aye Hindustan walo. Tumhari dastaan tak bhi na hogi dastaano main. https://t.co/3mvp2lndv2

Responding to which Gambhir tweeted in Hindi: “This is India. It’s not a blot like you which can be erased.”
@MehboobaMufti यह भारत है, कोई आप जैसा धब्बा नहीं जो मिट जाएगा!

Following which Mufti first blocked Gambhir on Twitter following which Gambhir tweeted that he was “happy to be blocked” by a “callous individual”.

However, 10 hours later unblocked him, and tweeted that cricketers should stick to cricket and not wade into issues, like Kashmir, about which they have “no knowledge”.
Cricketers should stick to 🏏. Why wade into politics esp when it comes to issues like Kashmir? They have no knowledge about it. Take your aggression to the field and once you re done hang your boots with grace. Disgraceful. https://t.co/d9BzRQECV7
