Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam chief MK Stalin, while rejecting any offer of alliance in this year’s Lok Sabha election, has made it clear that his party will never align with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.

In a statement, on Friday, Stalin said, “The DMK will never align with the BJP as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not (former Prime Minister Atal Bihari) Vajpayee ... and the alliance under him (Modi) is also not healthy.”

“Unlike any other leadership, the state’s rights have been trampled by PM Modi. It is an irony that he compares himself with Vajpayee. The DMK extended its support to Vajpayee only because he didn’t propose or stand by decisive politics,” he added.

Recently, Modi, while interacting with BJP workers had suggested that his party is willing to make new alliances and reunite with old friends. However, MK Stalin had already pitched the Congress president, Rahul Gandhi, for the prime minister’s post should an opposition alliance come into power.
