Narendra Modi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday, slammed the Congress party and termed its manifesto for the national election as a “dhakosla patra (sham document)” which is “full of lies.”

While addressing a rally in Arunachal Pradesh’s Pasighat, Modi mentioned Congress’s 2004 election manifesto, in which the party promised that every house would have electricity by 2009, and said, “However, till 2014 around 18,000 houses were unelectrified … Just like them (the Congress), their manifesto is corrupt and full of lies. Therefore, it should be called ‘dhakosla patra’ (sham document), not a manifesto.”

He further said that Congress was fooling farmers in the name of votes, but BJP has always been with them. He added, “We never committed the sin of betraying farmers, but we introduced the mechanism from seed to market.”
