Narendra Modi says ‘Gandhi family went holidaying on board INS Viraat when Rajiv was PM’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday, in yet other verbal attack on former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi alleged that when Gandhi was the PM, he took his family for a holiday on an undisclosed island on board INS Viraat, the now-decommissioned Indian Navy’s aircraft carrier. 

Modi, while addressing an election rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan, said, “Friends, have you ever heard of anyone going on a holiday with his family on a warship? Don’t be surprised at this question. This has happened – in our country. The biggest namdaar family of the Congress had used INS Viraat, the country’s pride, as its personal taxi.”

Earlier, on Monday, Modi kicked a row when he accused that Rajiv Gandhi died as “Bhrashtachari (Corrupt) Number 1”.
