Narendra Modi to Donald Trump: ‘Will aid humanity’s fight’
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday, said India will do everything possible to help humanity’s fight against Covid-19. Modi said this in a tweet quoting US President Donald Trump’s tweet in which the latter thanked the former for allowing a shipment of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) to the US.
Fully agree with you President @realDonaldTrump. Times like these bring friends closer. The India-US partnership is stronger than ever.

Although the efficacy of the antimalarial drug is not proven against the new coronavirus infection, some sections of the medical society believe it has helped COVID-19 patients. Trump touted the drug as a “game changer” in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
Interestingly, this comes days after Trump talked of “retaliation” if India didn’t lift a hold on HCQ exports. Trump expressed gratitude to India after New Delhi allowed shipments of the drug to the US among some other countries.
