Netaji kin and Bengal BJP’s Chandra Kumar Bose stirs controversy, says ‘Hindus must consider goat as their mother and stop eating it’
West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party vice-president and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s grandnephew Chandra Kumar Bose said Hindus must consider goat as their mother as Mahatma Gandhi used to consume goat’s milk. Bose’s remark immediately kicked a row on social media.
Bose, in a tweet, said Gandhi ji used to stay in his grandfather Sarat Chandra Bose’s house in Kolkata where he demanded goat milk to drink. … Gandhi, “protecter of Hindus”, treated goats as mother … Hindus stop eating goat's meat.
Gandhi ji used to stay in my grandfather-Sarat Chandra Bose's house at 1 WoodburnPark in Kolkata. He demanded goat's milk! Two goats brought to the house for this purpose. Gandhi protector of Hindus treated goats as Mata by consuming goats milk. Hindus stop eating goat's meat

While censoring Bose on his remarks, senior BJP leader and Tripura governor Tathagata Roy, in a tweet, said neither Gandhi nor Subhas Bose ever said goats were “mother”, it’s Chandra Bose’s conclusion. He further said Gandhi or anyone else never proclaimed to be “protector of Hindus”, who regard cow as their mother.
Neither Gandhiji nor your grandfather ever said goats were Mata-that's your conclusion. Nor did Gandhiji (or anyone else) ever proclaim that he was the protector of Hindus. We Hindus regard the cow as our mother, not the goat.
