Nitin Gadkari.

While rejecting the allegations of BJP being “Modi-centric,” senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Union minister Nitin Gadkari, in an interview, said that the BJP can never be an “individual-centric” party as it is based on an ideology.

Discussing Lok Sabha election 2019, he said that the BJP will get more seats as compared to 2014 poll and there is no chance of a fractured mandate.

He also said, “The BJP neither became Atal or Advaniji’s party in the past, nor it can ever be only Amit Shah or Narendra Modi’s party but the party and Modi are complementary to each other.”

Gadkari also rejected the slogan ‘Modi is BJP and BJP is Modi’, on the lines of ‘Indira is India and India is Indira’ slogan given by then Congress president DK Barooah during Emergency in 1976, saying the party could never be “individual-centric”.
