On Jawahar Lal Nehru’s death anniversary, Rahul Gandhi warns India of slipping into dictatorship
Congress President Rahul Gandhi, on Monday, praised India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on his death anniversary, saying, “Nehru's institutions have helped democracy to survive for 70 years.”
He also said that young democracies like India have become victims of dictatorship, so we have to be alert.
He tweeted: “Many democratic nations as young as India, soon degenerated into dictatorships. On his death anniversary, let us remember Jawaharlal Nehru ji’s contribution in building strong, independent, modern institutions, that have helped democracy survive in India for over 70 years.”
