In the wake of the Pulwama terror attack, Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy highlighted the futility of “befitting replies” and urged the Centre to ensure that appropriate precautionary measures were taken to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.

Talking to reporters in Mysuru, Kumaraswamy, on Monday, said, “It was not possible to overcome the hurt and pain caused by the death of the soldiers. The Centre should focus more on ensuring peace in parts of the country that have been troubled by terrorism.”

He added, “It is our duty to draw curtains on the menace of terrorism either through guns or dialogue.”

While declaring Pakistan as a terrorist nation was not in India’s hands, he said, “India can only recommend this.”
