Raghu Rai, iconic photographer, says ‘Instagram is a disease’
Raghu Rai, one of India’s most renowned photographers, shared his thoughts on shooting in the digital era in an interview with the Telegraph newspaper. Rai believes Instagram is a disease in the era of mobile phones as a convenience.
He said, “What is more important, tapasya or convenience? Do you want to be a tapaswi who is doing meditation, or just want to take a happy-snappy picture and put it on Instagram? Instagram is a disease.”
He added, on being questioned on having an Instagram account, “The way it is being used by most of the people that is a disease. Sometimes my daughter puts my pictures on Instagram. I never indulge. I don’t even see it.”
