Rahul Gandhi mocks Narendra Modi on unemployment report with ‘fuhrer’ barb
The Congress president, Rahul Gandhi, on Thursday, mocked the prime minister, Narendra Modi, on the NSSO post-demonetization data on unemployment in India by addressing him as “Fuhrer” – a title which was used for Germany’s infamous World War II dictator Adolf Hitler, and calling the record-high unemployment in the country as “national disaster”.
Tweeting with the hashtag #HowsTheJobs – a sarcastic take from the “Uri” film dialogue, “How’s the josh?”, which many BJP supporters have been seeing as using for propaganda purposes, Gandhi said: “The Fuhrer promised us two crore jobs a year. Five years later, his leaked job-creation report card reveals a national disaster. Unemployment is at its highest in 45 years. Six crore youths are jobless in 2017-18 alone.”
