Rahul Gandhi says ‘56-inch-chest prime minister sent a woman to defend him in Parliament’

While addressing a public meeting of farmers in Jaipur, Congress president Rahul Gandhi once again targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Rafael issue. This time, he dragged the defence minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, into the controversy.

Rahul, on Wednesday, said the “56-inch-chest prime minister could not even come in the Lok Sabha for a minute ... couldn’t even put a step … He fled from the people’s court … because ‘chowkidar (watchman)’ did burglary and ran away scared … He instead asked a woman, ‘Sitharaman ji, please defend me, you please defend me.’”

His “woman” remark for the defence minister drew flak from several quarters on social media.
