Rahul Gandhi says ‘Congress will not let Narendra Modi sleep until he waives farm loans’

Congress chief Rahul Gandhi stepped up his attack against the NDA government on the issue of farmers’ loans. In a media briefing outside Parliament, Gandhi, on Tuesday, said if prime minister doesn’t waive farm loans then Gandhi’s party, the Congress, will do it in 2019 and until then, his party won’t let Modi sleep.

He said, “We will not let the prime minister sleep at night until he waives loans. Congress manifesto for 2019 would promise farm loan waiver. We guaranteed 100 per cent that we will do it (waive farm loans) if the Narendra Modi government doesn’t do it by then.”

After accusing Modi of dividing the country into two halves – one for the poor and the other for the rich – during the recently concluded assembly elections in five states, Gandhi attacked the BJP-led Modi government on demonetization, Rafale jet deal and farm loans.
