Raj Thackeray.

Raj Thackeray, the leader of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, on Saturday, said the Pulwama terror attack, in which over 40 CRPF personnel were killed, was carried out with the intent of helping Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha election. He also claimed that there could be similar attacks as the election dates near in an attempt to whip up nationalism in the country to benefit the Bharatiya Janata Party.

While addressing his party workers on the 13th foundation day of his party, in Mumbai, Thackeray said, “Our jawans have been killed and we are told we should not ask questions. Earlier, I had predicted that before the 2019 election, Narendra Modi and this government would create a war-like situation. They are so predictable. I want to ask why this attack happened now?”

He alleged that Modi’s behaviour after the Pulwama attack seemed like he was indifferent to what was happening in the country. He said, “He claims that he is a fakir but to me, he seems to be more like an indifferent person.”

Raj Thackeray had earlier said the “truth” about the Pulwama suicide bombing will come out if the national security advisor, Ajit Doval, is probed.
