Home minister Rajnath Singh, on Tuesday said “lone wolf” and “do it yourself” attackers are the major challenge for the agencies who are tasked for ensuring safety of our country.

In his speech at the NSG headquarters in Manesar, near Gurgaon, on occasion of 34th Raising Day of the National Security Guard, Singh said there has been no big terror attack in India after the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. He said, “The ‘do it yourself’ and ‘lone wolf’ kind of terror attacks are a major challenge for us and for security agencies.”

He gave full credit to country's security forces. He also described the NSG as a world-class force. He further said that one unit of the NSG commandos was positioned in Jammu & Kashmir first time in this year.

The NSG played a major role in neutralizing the Pakistan-trained Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Two NSG commandos – Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan and Havildar Gajender Singh Bisht – were killed in two separate operations during the attacks.
