Sachin Tendulkar thanks Narendra Modi for ‘promoting cricket’
Indian cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a tweet for “promoting” cricket during the latter’s recent visit to the Maldives.
Tendulkar’s tweet came after Modi’s tweet, in which the PM had described the Maldivian, Prime Minister Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, as an “enthusiastic cricket fan” and presented Solih a bat signed by the entire Indian team, which is in England currently for the ICC World Cup.

My friend, President @ibusolih is an ardent cricket fan, so I presented him a cricket bat that has been signed by #TeamIndia playing at the #CWC19. pic.twitter.com/G0pggAZ60e
Tendulkar tweeted thanking Modi for “promoting cricket” and said it was a “good example of cricket diplomacy” during the ICC World Cup. He also hoped to see the Maldives on the cricketing map soon.
