Sharad Pawar targets BJP over Pragya Thakur, says ‘giving ticket to a person accused of triggering bomb blasts is an attack on democracy’

Nationalist Congress Party president Sharad Pawar, on Monday, while taking a dig at the BJP over Bhopal MP Pragya Singh Thakur, said giving ticket to a person accused of triggering bomb blasts is an attack on democracy.

Pawar, during interaction with reporters, said “Giving ticket to a woman on whom there are serious charges related to the Malegaon bomb blast is an attempt to break the democracy. It is about the woman who got selected from Madhya Pradesh.”

Pragya Singh Thakur is an accused in the September 2008 Malegaon bomb blasts, which killed several people. She is currently facing a trial in the case.
