Shatrughan Sinha.

Amid the differences with his party, BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha, on Sunday, said he will not change his constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha election “whatever the situation”. With this, the actor-turned-politician made it clear that he would contest again from Patna Sahib seat irrespective of the party decision.

“Situation kuch bhi ho, location wahi hogi (Whatever the situation, location would be same),” Sinha said.

Sinha has been having issues with the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership for the last few years over several issues. He has often taken a stance at variance with the official party line. He also shared the stage with opposition leaders at the Mamata Banerjee-organized anti-BJP “United India” rally in Kolkata, in January, where he minced no words assailing the prime minister, Narendra Modi.

Sinha’s remarks could also be an indication to other parties, like, Lalu Prasad’s Rashtriya Janata Dal and Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party, who are trying to woo him, in case he quits the BJP or the BJP sacks him.
