Shiv Sena slams BJP, likens CBI to a dog tied to government

An editorial appearing in the party’s mouthpiece, Saamana, Shiv Sena slammed the Bhartiya Janata Party for what it called as a mess in the CBI and likened the premier investigative agency a dog tied to the government.

“CBI is like a dog tied in BJP government's house. And today, anyone is kicking in the stomach of that dog, which is not a good thing,” the editorial, on Tuesday, read.

Pointing out that in the past the CBI was called a puppet in the hands of government, the editorial said, “Efforts are on for personal ownership on that ‘puppet’.”

This comes against the backdrop of the government removing the CBI director, Alok Verma, following an internal “war” between Verma and his deputy, Rakesh Asthana.
