Senior Shiv Sena leader Ramdas Kadam threatened to “bury” the BJP, on Tuesday. This comes two days after the Bharatiya Janata Party president, Amit Shah, said, while pointing to the Shiv Sena, that it will thrash ex-allies in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

Talking to reporters, Kadam said, “They (the BJP) have already lost (assembly) elections in five states very badly. Don’t come to Maharashtra and threaten us … we will bury you.”

Kadam, who is a minister in the Maharashtra government, pointed out that Shiv Sena had won 63 out of 288 seats in the 2014 Maharashtra assembly election “despite the Modi wave” in the country. He said, “Don’t forget that we won 63 seats despite the (Modi) wave.”

Shah, on Sunday, while speaking to his party workers in Latur said if an alliance happened, the party will ensure victory for its allies, but if it did not, the party will thrash its former allies in the coming Lok Sabha election.

The Shiv Sena had been targeting the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last few months, often like an opposition when the two parties are allies in both the Centre and in the Maharashtra government.
