Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut says ‘NDA will decide PM if BJP wins 100 seats less than 2014’

On being questioned over the possibility of a hung Parliament and Nitin Gadkari waiting to be the prime minister, Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut said he did not back Gadkari for premiership.

Raut said, “I did not back Gadkari for PM. Such reports have been coming from the media and the RSS. We haven’t placed any such condition (of Gadkari being PM) before the BJP. Besides, why name just Gadkari? BJP has several faces. If BJP wins 100 seats less than last time, NDA will decide who should be the PM.”

Raut, who is also an executive editor of the Sena mouthpiece Saamana, told this to Indian Express in an interview when explaining the recent renewal of the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance. Raut said it was also a part of a “political strategy”.
