Smriti Irani questions Rahul Gandhi’s ‘manhood’?

Union minister Smriti Irani, during her visit to Amethi, on Friday, made a sarcastic comment on Congress president Rahul Gandhi where she appeared to question his “manhood”.

Irani said the BJP president earned the post through his “purusharth (manhood)”, but Rahul got his “because of his mother”.

She said, “(BJP) ke adhyaksh apne purusharth se bane hain; Rahul Gandhi apni mata ke ashirwad se Congress ke adhyaksh bane hain (The [BJP] president earned his post through his manhood, Rahul got his thanks to his mother’s blessings).”

In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, Irani lost to Gandhi by 107,903 votes in Amethi.
