External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, on Sunday, joined the bandwagon of political leaders who made remarks on the Indian Air Force air strikes on terror camps in Pakistan. In the wake of her party colleagues giving out figures as well as denying the same and the opposition questioning the success of the IAF mission, the senior BJP leader said the Air Force went Pakistan to kill terrorists and not to bring their bodies back.

Speaking at an event, the foreign minister said, “The Indian Air Force had intended to go and kill the terrorists across the border and not bring the bodies back. They were supposed to go and launch an attack and return.”

Indian Air Force warplanes bombed a Jaish-e-Muhammed training camp in Pakistan’s Balakot in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province in retaliation for the terror group’s suicide bombing against a CRPF convoy in Jammu & Kashmir’s Pulwama, which had killed over 40 jawans.

Recently, Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa, the chief of Air staff, had said, “We don’t count human casualties; we count what targets we have hit or not hit. The statement on casualties will be made by the government. The IAF is not in a position to clarify on how many people were there.”
