In Jamshedpur, three-year-old girl kidnapped, raped and beheaded

New Delhi: A horrific crime has come into the light, on Tuesday, when the Jamshedpur Police found the mutilated body of a three-year-old girl stuffed in a plastic bag and hidden in bushes four kilometres from the Tatanagar railway station. The head of body was missing and has not been found yet.

The police have confirmed that the girl was gang-raped and beheaded. CCTV footage from the railway station captured a man walking out of a railway station with a girl in his arm after lifting her from her sleeping mother’s side at the Tatanagar railway station.

Following leads, police arrested two suspects – Rinku Sahu (36) and Kailash Kumar (38) – two days after the heinous crime. The footage from security camera has helped police to nab the culprits. Both the men have confessed to the crime. They allegedly told the police that they gang-raped the child for a whole day and later strangled her. However, they have been unable to explain why the head is missing.

“I just picked her up and took her by mistake. I fell and I got scared,” Rinku Sahu told reporters.

The girl’s mother, Rakima Khatoon, immediately reported to the police when she had found that her daughter missing. She named her partner, Monu Mondal, as a suspect in the kidnapping of her daughter. Monu Mondal was present at the railway station with the mother and her child. However, CCTV footages showed Mondal was sleeping when the suspects kidnapped the child. He now has been arrested by the police and is being investigated for child trafficking.

The deputy superintendent of Tatanagar rail police, Noor Mustafa Ansari, while talking to reporters said, “We showed Monu Mondal the footage however, he claimed ignorance about the culprits. However, based on the FIR lodged by Rakima we sent Monu Mondal to Ghaghidih Jail for cheating the woman using fake name on July 29.”

According to media reports, Rinku Sahu is the son of a police constable is also father of three children. He has a long criminal record and has allegedly kidnapped and assaulted many children before. Kailash is a son of a soldier who is currently posted in Jammu & Kashmir.
