SP’s Santosh Punem abducted and killed by Maoists in Chhattisgarh

New Delhi: Samajwadi Party member Santosh Punem, on Tuesday, was abducted and killed by Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district.
Police superintendent Divyang Patel, on Wednesday, said Punem, who contested the state Assembly polls from Bijapur seat last year, was abducted by ultras from his construction site in Marimalla village.
Some local spotted his body, lying in a pool of blood at the nearby Marimalla hills, located deep inside a forest which is 16 km away from the police station, on Wednesday morning.
