Arvind Kejriwal shows solidarity with protesting Puducherry’s chief minister Narayanasamy, says ‘what kind of democracy is this?’
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, on Monday, flew down to Puducherry to show solidarity with the Congress chief minister of the Union territory, V Narayanasamy, who has been on a dharna (sit-in protest) against the lieutenant governor, Kiran Bedi, since last Wednesday.
The Delhi chief minister, along with his deputy, Manish Sisodia, is appearing to be “eager” for an alliance with the Congress for the 2019 general election.
In Puducherry, Kejriwal expressed his concern over the state of Narayanasamy, who was forced to sleep on the road outside Raj Nivas (governor’s house) in protest against the “negative stand” of Bedi towards the government proposals. Kejriwal also tweeted: “An elected CM @vnarayanasami is being forced to sleep on the road since last three nights. What kind of democracy is this? Those elected by the voters are begging in front of those defeated. Why is the vote of those living in Delhi n Puducherry inferior to other states [sic]?”
