Congress president Rahul Gandhi slammed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government’s interim Budget, which included an annual income support of ₹6,000 for small farmers. Gandhi said the ₹17 a day was “an insult” to farmers.
Tweeting to the hashtag #AakhriJumlaBudget, Gandhi assailed Modi and said the prime minister’s “incompetence and arrogance has destroyed the lives of our farmers”, and giving them ₹17 a day is an “insult to everything they stand and work for.
