Akhilesh Yadav says ‘BJP’s culture of vendetta may return to haunt them one day’

Following the Central Bureau of Investigation’s raids in multiple places in connection with the illegal contacts given to sand miners during Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party’s rule in Uttar Pradesh, the former chief minister lashed out at the BJP government and accused it of carrying out a “vendetta” against him.

Yadav also warned that the BJP will be at the receiving end one day of their “culture of vendetta”.

Talking to media, on Sunday, Yadav said, “This culture of vendetta is started by the BJP and it will return to haunt them in the future.” While referring to a possible change in government, the former UP chief minister said, “If the BJP has CBI, we have alliance … it’s not the CBI who votes, it’s the people.”

The CBI conducted the raids, on Saturday, while probing the illegal sand-mining contracts in UP, which were given out in 2012-13 during Yadav’s tenure as the chief minister of the state.
