Amit Shah says ‘if opposition’s mahagathbandhan comes to power, we will see different prime minister every day’
BJP president Amit Shah while speaking to BJP's booth-level workers in Kanpur, rebuked the opposition’s efforts to stitch together a grand alliance for this year’s Lok Sabha election. He said if the mahagathbandan (grand alliance) comes to power, each opposition leader will take turns to be the “prime minister every day of the week”, and on Sunday, the whole country will “go on a holiday”.
opposition megarally earlier this month by the Trinamool Congress chief, Mamata Banerjee, Shah said, “If the mahagathbandhan forms government, Behenji (Mayawati) will be PM on Monday, Akhilesh (Yadav) ji on Tuesday, Mamata (Banerjee) didi on Wednesday, Sharad Pawar ji on Thursday, Deve Gowda ji on Friday, Stalin on Saturday, and the whole country will go on a holiday on Sunday.”
With the Lok Sabha election only about two months away, the BJP is repeatedly attacking the Congress’s attempts to cobble together an alliance of opposition parties to defeat the incumbent government.
