Baba Ramdev.

Baba Ramdev, yoga guru and the head of FMCG major Patanjali Ayurved Limited, has demanded that May 23 be celebrated as “Modi Day”. It is the day on which the 2019 Lok Sabha election results were declared.

During a news conference in Haridwar, on Sunday, Ramdev said, “May 23 is the “biggest day in Indian history because on this day the people of the country have formed a Modi government with a huge majority. By voting more than 50 per cent, the country has expressed confidence in Modi, BJP and NDA.” He then said, “I want May 23 be always remembered in terms of Indian politics. In such a situation, we demand that this day be celebrated as Modi Day or Lok Kalyan Din (Public Welfare Day).”

Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party won 303 Lok Sabha seats alone and along with its alliance – National Democratic Alliance – it won 353.
