In between the war of words during intensified campaigning for next month’s election, the Andhra Pradesh chief minister and Telugu Desam Party president, N Chandrababu Naidu, on Sunday, called the leader of YSR Congress, YS Jaganmohan Reddy, a “ganja (cannabis) plant in a tulsi (basil) garden”.

While addressing an election rally at Budvel, he said, “In this tulsi garden, a ganja plant has also grown. He is Jaganmohan Reddy.” He alleged that Jagan was threatening violence and said, “People should be alert because those who killed their own uncle can do anything.”

He also alleged that Jagan was trying to use Vivekananda Reddy’s murder for political mileage as the case had more twists than a “detective novel”.
