Gautam Gambhir calls attack on Muslim in Gurgaon ‘deplorable’, calls for action against culprits

Gautam Gambhir, the BJP’s newly-elected MP, condemned the assault on a Muslim man by some fringe Hindutva elements. Some youths mercilessly thrashed a Muslim man for wearing a skull cap and made the victim chant “Jai Sri Ram”.
In a tweet, on Monday, Gambhir said: “It is deplorable. Exemplary action needed by Gurugram authorities. A Muslim man was beaten up wearing a hat, and forcibly pressing him to make slogans of ‘Jai Sri Ram’ is condemned, it is malignant, requiring urgent action against it from the Gurugram administration.”
